Embark on a journey of self-discovery by learning to tap into your inner wisdom through the Tarot! With a few simple steps, you will be able to hone your intuition and gain insight into difficult situations. Here are some tips to get started:

1. Familiarize yourself with the cards: It can seem daunting, but the best way to get comfortable with the Tarot is to become familiar with each card. Have fun exploring the symbolism and meanings behind each one, paying attention to how they make you feel as you go along.

2. Start reading: Once you have a basic understanding of the cards, start practicing on yourself or family and friends. Connect with the energy of each card, and allow it to guide you in understanding the situation at hand.

3. Reflect: Take some time after each reading to reflect on your insights and how it resonates with what is going on in your life. Contemplate how this new knowledge can help you make better decisions for yourself or others.

By following these steps, you will begin to see your intuition grow stronger and stronger. Have faith in the process, and soon enough you'll be able to use it as a powerful tool in helping yourself and those around you.

 Viewing a card:

When viewing tarot cards, it is important to really observe the details on each card. Take note of the colors, symbols, and figures that are present in the image. Ask yourself what these elements can mean in terms of messages or clues from your subconscious mind.

Pay attention to how you feel when looking at the picture as this can be a great clue to the hidden meaning of that card. Take your time and really use this exercise as a way to connect with your inner guidance and gain insights into your life. With practice, you will develop the skill to intuitively pick out the right messages from each card!

Picking a card:

When shuffling and selecting tarot cards, it is important to really listen to your intuition. Take the time to pay attention to how you feel as you shuffle, and be mindful of any messages or signs that may come up during the process. When selecting a card, go with your gut feeling - even if it goes against what appears on the card, go with your gut!

Since we all are stronger in different 'clairs' our intuition will spark or be sensed by us in different ways.  Ultimately, your intuition will be the best guide when shuffling and selecting tarot cards. Trust yourself, and let it guide you to the right card for you.

Way of questioning:

The use of tarot cards can lead to a deeper understanding of the world around us and true self-discovery. As you open up to the potential that tarot has to offer, it's important to keep an open mind when asking questions and be willing to explore more deeply beyond yes/no answers.

The practice of forming open-ended is key in developing your intuition as well as understanding which clairs are the strongest for you at this point and time in your life (note, they can shift, but they usually stay the same). Open-ended questions and a willingness to explore can lead to greater self-awareness, understanding and personal growth.

Asking 'How' and 'What' questions has personally been my favorite way to start opening more to my intuitive nature and the answers coming through the tarot cards.   The more you explore and open to the possibilities that tarot has to offer, the more connected you become with your intuition.

Learning how to ask questions in a way that encourages deeper exploration can bring about great personal insight and understanding of our inner worlds.

Answering a question:

An important part of being a tarot reader is to be open to following your intuition around the answer to a question. This means respecting the energy that comes through with each card and allowing yourself to tap into the spiritual energy behind it. Tarot readers must listen closely to what is being communicated by these cards and be willing to take chances.

Please also note that you should always operate with no intention to harm, either yourself or others, so no matter what comes through assess and answer with a heart of compassion and grace.   Ultimately, tarot reading is an art of connecting with the divine energy in order to offer a transformative and healing answer for those seeking guidance.  So trust your intuition and always strive to operate from a place of love.  That’s when you give the best readings.

Awareness and observance:

It is important for tarot readers to always be aware of their surroundings and the energies that exist both within and outside of them. By operating from a place of awareness, they can more accurately interpret the cards and gain deeper insights into their life’s journey. Through observance, tarot readers can recognize patterns in the cards that are:

  • coming through the pictures,
  • the overall energy,
  • the orientation of the cards,
  • the suits of cards, etc. and use this information to connect with the energies of the universe and gain a greater understanding of their own lives.

Having an observant eye is also helpful in understanding the limitations of tarot cards. Tarot will never tell you what to do or predict your future, but by being aware and taking into account all of the information that comes up during a reading, a tarot reader can get a better understanding of the energies and influences surrounding them in order to gain insight and make better decisions. In doing so, they can create their own destiny on their life’s journey.  By staying aware and observant, tarot readers are able to deepen their understanding of the universe and themselves.
